The term, “beyond her years,” which led to wonder when talking about the young, pretty, Camille Winbush. Winbush, who was found at the tender age of 2, has really had nearly 30-year career. That’s a considerable amount of time in front of the camera considering she’s just 32-years old.
Hollywood can be harsh, but Winbush’s parents did an fantastic job of balancing her stardom at the time of keeping her childhood as normal as possible.
She caught her huge break when she landed the character of Vanessa Thompkins, the oldest of Bernie Mac’s sister’s kids on critically-acclaimed “The Bernie Mac Show.” The show surfaced between 2001 and 2006, and Winbush received so many nominations and awards for her charcaters.
When questioned, if she was in any way same as to Lauren, Winbush quickly answered, stating that she strictly minds her own stuffs.
“As for children, you can just be on set for a fixed amount of hours,” Winbush described to Hype Magazine. “So, depending on your age, the most you can be on a set is 9 ½ hours when you’re under 18.
Unless you have emancipated yourself or whatever the matter may be. So, we actually shooted, “The Bernie Mac Show,” 5-days a week and I was on set for that 9 ½ hours and between shooting scenes, I would be doing schoolwork.
Sometimes, it was overwhelming attempting to keep up with learning your lines and on peak of that you got a science project and you have to go to gymnastics practice until 9:00 at night. However, you find a way to make it work.”
